Yes- I am a fire fighter and a Emergency Medical Technician certified by the state of Maryland. I love it- I am having so much fun!!!!
I work from 7pm on Every Saturday till 7am on EVERY Sunday- And I also do alot of stand-by work---

The fire station is a very loud and wonderfull place for me to be. I absolutly love it there- I go out into the vehical bay and i put on a cd and i turn it up really loud and i sit on the back of one of the rescue squads and i just sit there- and think about life and about my x-girlfriend who i absolutly love and how i miss my bro and about how i wish i had a compitent english teacher- like i did last year. I just sit there. Sometimes i cry- but for the most part i just sit there and i thank god that i have a second family becides that one i have at home- i have a family named Fire Department 10 and Rescue Squad 49. I love it there and if i could live there- i would move out of my house in less than 10 minutes.
We (EMT/Fire Fighters) go through alot of training. I am mandated by the county to serve a 12 hour shift at least once a week- but that isnt a problem for me. I spend alot of time there- i go al the time- and if I cant be reached on my cell phone- or at home- I wm at the fire station. I am a Prince Georges County Fire Fighter and PG county had the second highest murder and accedent rate in the COUNTRY. We run nore that 6000 calls a DAY..., my station houses 3 ambulances, 2 mudic units and a heavy duty rescue Squad truck, a dive team and 4 chief trucks. A mobile eletric generator and tones and tones of smaller peices of equiptment. The fire department houses just about the same ammount of equiptment- but they dont do any injurie calls- they also dont do search and rescue in buildings- we do that. They arnt trained to handle accedents and to do Contian and Control.. we are. All the fire department does is put the fire out. we do the rest. we specialize in search and rescue. that is what out station is world renound for and i am happy that i am a member of such an honerable organization.
